The Israel Journal of Health Policy Research (IJHPR) seeks to promote intensive interactions among scholars and practitioners from Israel and other countries regarding all aspects of health policy, health services research, public health, health promotion, health economics, health care management, emergency response, and the ethics, sociology, and political science of health care.
The ultimate aim of these academic interactions is to contribute to the improvement of health policy in Israel and around the world by increasing the extent to which policy development is based on data and rigorous analysis.
The IJHPR was launched in 2012. It is a peer-reviewed, open access, internet-based journal. Over the years it has established a reputation – in Israel and abroad – as a high-quality journal and a terrific source of reliable information about Israel's widely-respected health care system. The IJHPR also features insightful commentaries by leading international scholars that highlight what Israel can learn from other countries and what other countries can learn from Israel.
The IJHPR'S 2022 impact factor is 4.5, and as such it is a Q1 journal. It is at the 91st percentile in the Health Policy & Services category (8 out of 87) and at the 76th percentile in the Public, Environmental & Occupational Health category (43 out of 180).
The IJHPR is sponsored by the Israel National Institute for Health Policy Research, which covers the Article Publication Charge (APC) for all relevant articles. The editor-in-chief is Professor Avi Israeli.
In recent years, the IJHPR has published articless from all the relevant Israeli academic and health care institutions, as well as many leading American and European universities.
The editorial team encourages high quality submissions that are focused on health policy in Israel and abroad, and which can contribute both to scholarly discussions and to policy development. Currently, the IJHPR has a particular interest in quantitative research and studies making use of large data sets, big data analyses and/or artificial intelligence tools.
